Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Assistant Office Engineer, to join our Construction Management team on construction projects within the Northern California area. This role will be fully onsite with opportunities to work remotely.
Role accountabilities:
As an Assistant Office Engineer, you will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, water and wastewater facilities and general building projects to successfully execute and manage programs, under the supervision of the Office Engineer and Resident Engineer to help us build and grow our practice.
- Support the project’s day-to-day construction oversight by assisting the Office Engineer and Office Engineering Team’s efforts on major municipal contracts for receipt and response to general contractor shop drawing and material data sheet submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Support the Resident Engineer and design team staff in obtaining timely responses to submittals and RFIs and distribute to field and contractor staff for use in constructing the project. Use client required computer data base for all document control and responses.
- Work with document control staff to file all project records for use by the field staff.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 years of experience as an office engineer and/or construction inspector for Public Works Construction.
- Experience reviewing and managing Contractor RFIs and submittals
- Proficiency with Primavera and/or MS Project and the MS Office Suite
- Technical field skills and experience in large project construction management in a leadership role managing or coordinating with contractor, design team, owner, and other CM team staff.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously with a strong written and oral communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering ) or Construction Management
- EIT/FE or professional certification such as CCM/CMIT

The salary range for this position is $79,000 – $123,000
