SALARY AND BENEFITS
The 2023-2024 salary range for the district’s High School Assistant Principal is $ 85,163 – $94,531, based on a twelve-month contract, consistent with Arizona law. A comprehensive fringe benefits package is also included.

- A copy of transcripts.
- Three letters of recommendation written within last 12 months.
Summary of Function for Assistant Principal – Operations & Student Support
This position serves under the direction of the principal and participates as a member of the school leadership team. This position is responsible for student discipline, attendance, activites, records, and school operations. The building administration works as a close team providing guidance and support to, personnel/staffing, pupil services, and school/community relations. The assistant principal has shared responsibilities with the principal and serves as the principal in his/her absence. The assistant principal may assume responsibilities from within the principal’s job description as directed and is supervised by the principal.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Valid AZ Department of Education Administrative Certificate required
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university required
- Emphasis in supervision, educational administration and secondary curriculum preferred
- AZ Department of Education Certification required; Dual Certification preferred
- Structured English Immersion (SEI) endorsement, English as a Second Language (ESL) or Bilingual endorsement is required within one year of hire
- Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Three (3) years successful experience in teaching, administration and supervision of staff preferred

Working conditions
Indoor office environment and outdoor activities consistent with leading a school.
Physical requirements
Work involves the performance of duties where physical exertion and movement is required to perform aspects of the job. Assistance is available as required to perform physically demanding tasks. Work involves sitting and moving for extended periods of time, requires moving from one location to another, reaching, bending, holding and grasping objects. Verbal communication ability required.
Equipment, Aids, Tools and Materials
Uses office equipment which includes but is not limited to: computers, video projectors, white boards, and office or instructional equipment. FUSD recognizes that ever changing development of technology but expects all staff to keep abreast of changing technology opportunities and use tools and devices provided to them.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
The qualifications of each candidate will be evaluated by a district screening committee. Finalists selected for interviews will visit the district at their own expense. Start Date: July 1, 2023
