Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Community Foods and Nutrition Programs, the Assistant Program Associate will support RiseBoro Community Partnerships Wellness Rising program initiative that helps educate individuals on how food impacts health and well-being. The Assistant Program Associate is responsible for helping to ensure projects are organized and executed successfully. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
General Responsibilities
- Assist in client referrals for a Community Health Worker as needed/requested
- Assist in collecting and entering client data into the referral database
- Assist in inventory and ordering of supplies and materials for all program areas
- Other related duties as required by the Supervisor
Heath and Hospitals (H&H) Fresh Program
- Assist in carrying all cooking and food supplies to Hospital designated cooking areas.
- Help prepare food by washing it before using
- Help set up cooking areas with supplies (hot plates, knives, etc)
- Assist in developing a 40-minute health and nutrition presentation
- Present to clients a 40-minute health and nutrition presentation/seminar every week
- Assist in packing up all remaining items post-cooking class
- Travel to designated community locations daily (Lincoln, Jacobi, and Kings County Hospitals)
Food Pantry
- Assist in tracking pantry items
- Help arrange pickup and delivery of donated foods
- Conduct weekly inspections for food expiration and freshness of the pantry area
- Assist in responding to all pantry requests within the specified timeframe
- Meet with Food Pantry clients and provide food support

- Bilingual English/Spanish speaker required
- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule; work adjusted hours; weekend and evening schedule availability may be required

- Intermediate level computer proficiency using standard Microsoft Office Suite required, particularly MS Word, Outlook, and Excel

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required
