Minimum Qualifications
Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

B.A. in art history, history or a related field.
Position Summary
Performs tasks associated with incoming processing of new acquisitions, including unframing, applying accession numbers, making and applying identification labels, measuring, transcribing signatures, inscriptions, & marks, making condition reports, photographing objects, storing objects in new locations, processing photographs, and entering all pertinent data into the collections management database.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Experience with proper museum art handling.
- Knowledge of basic museum registration methods, especially condition reporting.
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with TMS database preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Standing for extended periods of time; repetitive movements.
- Use of ladders.
- Extended periods of time at a computer.

Duties/Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
- Working actively with museum objects from the permanent collection.
- Performs tasks associated with incoming processing of new acquisitions, including unframing, applying accession numbers, making and applying identification labels, measuring, transcribing signatures, inscriptions, and marks, making condition reports, photographing objects, storing objects in new locations.
- Working on digital processing of objects, including uploading photographs and entering all pertinent data into the collections management database.
- Groups of objects will be assigned by the Senior Registrar or Head Registrar.
Percentage of time 65 Duties/Responsibilities
- Working with the Parker Collection of Russian Art, including processing objects in the collection.
- Tasks will include applying accession numbers, making and applying identification labels, measuring, transcribing signatures, inscriptions, and marks, making condition reports, photographing objects, storing objects in new locations, and creating curatorial files.
- May also include some cleaning of objects.
- Will accommodate requests for assistance from the curator of Russian art.
