Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:45am-11am, handful of evening games
Salary range: $13.65/hr

The Role:
Thompson Rivers Parks & Recreation District’s is seeking a fun and energetic individual that can help us provide a healthy, happy community through people, parks, programs and partnerships! This individual will help emphasize skill development, fair play, teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, responsibility, and fun on a part-time basis for the ages 5-8 years old. Each participant should be provided the opportunity to play in every game and play different positions on the field. Classes may include but are not limited to the following sports: T-Ball
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teach fundamental skills to the children while emphasizing skill development, fair play, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.
- Teach skills in a developmentally appropriate stage.
- Execute practice plans.
- Be on time at all practices and games.
- Enforce Thomson Rivers Parks & Recreation District’s parent code of conduct.
- Report any problems with fields, equipment, player behavior, parent behavior or officials to the Head T-Ball/Coach Pitch Coach.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Have a desire to work with children
- Have enthusiasm
- Have patience
- Attend the coaches meeting that is scheduled by the Athletic Department.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Previous coaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of the sport you are coaching.
- Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with coaches, staff and the public.
- Ability to understand and work with kids aged 5-8 years old.
- Ability to handle emergency situations using good judgement.
