Cinematic Animation Lead – Ridgeline Games
Ridgeline Games is focused on building rich narrative campaigns with memorable characters and powerful experiences all in the Battlefield universe. We are building a new studio in the Seattle area composed of leaders and talent with a vast array of AAA game dev experience. As we assemble our diverse team, all who have a voice in making great games together, we’re looking for a healthy mixture of tempered veterans and young passionate individuals eager to make a difference.
Role Overview: We are looking for a Cinematic Animation Lead to support a team of animators to create memorable character performances and exciting narrative moments in the Battlefield universe. You will lead with empathy as they seek opportunities for their team to enhance Battlefield’s narrative through a variety of cinematic experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with creative leads to identify character and narrative opportunities within cinematics and support narrative with your team.
- Be comfortable prototyping and implementing cinematics and narrative moments using the Frostbite engine.
- Animate physical and facial performances using motion capture that matches the project’s realistic style and quality benchmark.
- Direct mocap shoots, choreography, and animation asset tracking.
- Manage the day-to-day of your cinematic animators and support your team to do their best work in an inclusive environment.
- Organize regular feedback loops with your team to ensure the quality bar for animation is upheld.
- Research new ways to work and improve our pipelines and workflows.
Qualifications:
- 5 + years professional experience as an animation lead
- Shipped at least 1 AAA title in a lead, principal, or senior role in cinematic animation
- Strong acting and storytelling skills with experience in facial animation
- Deep knowledge of game cinematic pipelines and in-engine workflows for pre-rendered and run-time cinematics, including in-game cameras, facial animation, and run-time systems
- Experience working with motion capture and participating in mocap shoots
- Collaborative and communicative, bringing high emotional intelligence

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
° $129,050 – $204,600
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
° $127,850 – $204,600
• Jersey City, NJ:
° $127,850 – $204,600
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
° $127,850 – $189,050
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
° $127,850 – $189,050
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
