Position Summary:
We are currently hiring a Bilingual Spanish/English Assistant to the Lab Manager who will work within our Laboratory Department at El Nuevo San Juan. As the Assistant to the Lab Manager you will provide several operational and clerical functions and provide an exceptional patient experience in our health center.
Applicants must have availability to commit to a schedule of 40 hours/week, working Monday – Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm and ability to work 2 Saturdays per month.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required. Associates degree preferred.
- Nationally certified as a Phlebotomy Technician.
- 1-2 years of related experience.
- Bilingual Spanish/English required.
- Must have excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional experience to patients.
- Understanding of phone etiquette and standard office procedures.
- Computer literacy, good communication, team player, listen to patient, take responsibility when needed.
- Ability to responds appropriately and effectively in stressful situations.
Key Duties:
- Create folders for all lab files that need to be faxed to the lab vendors.
- Work with lab vendors on any lab problems and/or resolutions.
- Communicate with department managers and site directors re: lab errors including following up for corrections.
- Provide training support as directed by the laboratory manager and/or by Dept Manager/Site Director.
- Serve as a Phlebotomist as needed or designated by the lab manager.

Starting Compensation: Minimum $40,000 per year; Maximum $45,000 per year
