PSE’s Resource Planning Analytics team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Assoc Electric Generation Resource Planning Analyst position!

Job Description

Assists with quantitative and qualitative analysis related to long-term energy resource planning for the Company’s Integrated Resource Plan and assists with creation and modification of proformas in support of resource acquisitions under direction of senior staff. Supports efforts to build interdepartmental consensus on analytical approaches and related critical input assumptions that will shape the Company’s long-term resource strategy. Assists senior staff with researching trends in long-term energy markets including policy issues that will impact the Company’s long-term resource strategy and organizing such research. Assists with efforts to support effectively communicate analytical methods, assumptions, and results with key external stakeholders to lay the foundation for recovering costs of future resource acquisitions.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists with performing long-term resource analysis under direction of senior staff using spreadsheet models and programs such as Aurora and Plexos.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of input and output databases necessary to perform long-term resource planning analysis.
  • Assists with researching critical energy policy issues that may affect the Company’s long-term resource strategy.
  • Organizes results of analysis and research projects.
  • Assists with preparation of financial forecast related to revenue requirements, operating expenses, capital expenditures, EBITDA, net income for resource acquisition and integration candidates.
  • Assists in efforts to support resource acquisitions.
  • Supports development of written documents and presentations to help effectively communicate results of research and analyses.
  • Assists with development and performance of miscellaneous analysis and research at the direction of senior staff.
  • Creates communication materials, such as PowerPoint slides, charts, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Math, or related field.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical analysis.
  • Solid written, interpersonal, and group communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a supportive team member.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ph.D./Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Math, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in energy-related industry including complex analysis.
  • Experience performing statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated creative problem solving abilities.
  • Experience creating and using database applications to support analysis.
  • Experience researching energy policy related issues.
  • Good organizational skills.

The pay range for this position is $67,200.00 – $104,400.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
