YOUR ROLE
- Works closely with our Product Development, Marketing, Sales and Key Account Management to meet the technical needs for markets within our paper solutions industry.
- Leads various high level market technical projects focused on sustainability, profitability, and innovation.
- Critical in understanding customer needs and shaping the innovation pipeline as well as introducing new products, technology, and tools to the field/market.
- Executes and implements continuous improvement projects both internally and externally.
- Customer visits for major complaint investigations, troubleshooting, product/technology trial support, training seminars, and business reviews.
- Performs / supports completion of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Plan on all product related performance complaints.
- Support Product Development, Sales and Key Account Management program for APP with an emphasis on paper/board, graphic arts/envelopes markets implementing the plan of action for each market.
- Prepares laboratory reports which present findings and conclusions and prepares direct customer correspondence.
- Understands lab procedures presented in Technical journals, can adapt and modify procedures to meet project requirements.
- Effectively communicate technical information directly to sales, internal, & external customers.
- Interprets laboratory results and recommends next experimental steps or products.
- Sets up and operates standard lab equipment of moderate complexity.
YOUR SKILLS
- Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry, or Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering, or other equivalent degree with industry experience.
- 1-5 plus years of application engineering, product development, or paper converting industry experience.
- Trained Six Sigma Black Belt (preferred).
- Ability to multi-task with strong analytical and mechanical skills.
- Demonstration of project management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Travel in North America, approximately 50-60%
- Computer experience with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and preferably SAP and GPM.
The salary for this role is $73,600 – $103,600. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
