JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Brand Manager reports to the Vice President, Value Brands and is based at our Livermore, CA location. An experienced marketer who leads brand-building initiatives utilizing data-driven insights; assist in developing and independently lead key elements of brand plans with agencies and cross-functionals to drive business goals. This role is eligible for a hybrid work week, Tuesdays in Livermore office and travel as needed for photo shoots, tastings, in person meetings etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Understand and advocate for the consumer; ensure all platforms and strategies are consumer led and ties to effective trade execution as appropriate
- Key input in annual Business Review and Brand Plan: lead key portions of planning for major brands and conducts entire business review and plan for smaller brands
- Lead packaging projects from creative brief to printing to production. Collaborate with creative team to brief and adjust packaging to promote brand health
- Lead new product process with cross-functional teams and help develop sales pitch
- Monitor performance and works with sales to meet KPIs
- Lead cross-functional teams (external agencies/internal partners) to develop and execute marketing plans
- Lead brand business analysis efforts. Monitor brand health using internal and external data resources to identify issues and opportunities and deliver actionable insights
- Present with impact and influence to key audiences
- Independently manage multiple competing priorities and enlist manager for flawless execution
- Track and influence budget
- Coach, train and serve as role model for MAs and AMMs
- Visit key markets to in support of marketing blitzes, new product launches, surveys and report key brand and competitive findings
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred, but not required
- 5+ years marketing experience, or MBA and 2+ years business experience
- Strong grounding in CPG marketing best practices across the 4 Ps
- Experience in evaluating data and making fact-based recommendations, and presenting the recommendations to senior leaders
- Demonstrated project management skills with excellent attention to detail
- Prior knowledge and/or experience with wine, spirits, or consumer packaged goods
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (can create powerful marketing presentations for internal and external customers)
- Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Creative Suite, InDesign and Canva preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Position operates in a professional office environment
- Position includes travel to various industry and/or company events, up to 20% of the time
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. (a case of wine)
COMPENSATION
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $92,000 – $138,000
- Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
