We are looking for a talented attorney to support Amazon’s growing retail business. You will work directly with your business partners on a broad range of commercial matters and regulatory issues.
Responsibilities include:
– Managing regulatory compliance for Amazon retail businesses, including liaising with federal and state agencies on a variety of issues and products and developing and implementing long-term strategic planning.
– Providing day-to-day legal support to business teams and developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, efficient, and business-centric ways.
– Helping your business teams launch new features and product categories.
– Serving as lead counsel in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
– Resolving issues arising in existing commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one state bar.
– 2+ years of legal experience as a transactional, litigation, or regulatory attorney.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Prior experience advising on product regulatory compliance matters.
– Prior experience engaging with federal or state regulators.
– Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
– Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
– Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a large number of projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines.
– Team player and consensus builder who can effectively collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business leaders throughout the organization.
– Business acumen combined with the ability to identify optimal solutions, including novel, creative and innovative solutions to complex issues.
– Strong analytical and communication skills.
– Some ability to travel as needed.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
