Associate Corporate Counsel, WW Returns & ReCommerce

We are looking for an Associate Corporate Counsel to support Amazon’s global customer returns and recommerce business, as part of a team of attorneys and professionals supporting Amazon’s worldwide operations. You’ll be an integral partner to the business leaders you support, providing both legal and commercial input on strategy, operations, the launch of new features, and relationships with key partners, in dynamic and often ambiguous conditions. You’ll have a direct impact on Amazon’s ability to offer a world-class customer returns experience, while supporting a dynamic and sophisticated reverse logistics operation and sustainability initiatives.

Key job responsibilities
• Providing advice across a wide range of legal issues, including privacy, consumer marketing, consumer protection, competition, sustainability, intellectual property rights, and regulatory compliance.
• Developing policies and procedures, identifying and implementing process improvements, and providing legal training to the teams you support.
• Serving as lead counsel and directly advising business clients on strategic deals. Structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong academic credentials, including a J.D. degree and membership in one state bar.
• At least 2 full years of legal experience, preferably with some portion of that experience in technology or commercial transactions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 2 full years’ experience in a national or international law firm
• Experience leading complex negotiations or projects
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
• Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
• Proven track record navigating clients through complex issues.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
