Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Associate Creative Director, Copy to join our collaborative team, writing and concepting for our financial services client across digital and print deliverables. You will create ideas and executions to solve creative briefs. You are knowledgeable about integrated creative and experience solutions. You will report to a creative director. Most of this team sits in the Chicago area, and though you will be fully remote, the team has a preference for a Chicago-based candidate.

Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate strong skills in developing innovative, audience-led creative activation platforms rooted in strategy that fulfill our client’s brand and direct marketing goals.
• Inspire and shape the development of creative ideas, expressing constructive feedback to more junior writers and art directors, and presenting work.
• Know all relevant industry, client and product information, such as offer description, product features and functionality, customer benefits and client brand guidelines including voice, tone and legal mandatories (®, TM, ©)
• Craft messaging approaches for specific audiences, based on creative strategy insights
• Mentor junior team members, training them in our creative philosophy and helping them to grow their careers.
• Be a team leader in ensuring that content is produced in an organized and accurate manner that achieves the agency’s and clients’ desired results.
• Responsible for staying current with channel delivery specifications, emerging trends and technologies (e.g., DCO, Content Velocity, Dynamic Video, Modular Content Systems).
• Work with Creative Directors, Senior Team members and client teams to become conversant in developing tools that help us translate strategy into execution (e.g., messaging strategies, positioning)
• Consult with clients to collect assets and fonts, and resolve file set up and delivery.
• Present work at internal regroups and to clients
• Leading the conceptual development and copywriting of creative across a variety of communication media.
• Becoming a go-to client-facing voice, presenting work and building relationships
• Getting positive feedback from superiors, peers and clients on the creative product that is produced.
• Showing improved response rates on produced direct response and channel offerings.
• Define and update our creative best practices based on in-market results and channel trends
• Demonstrating understanding of unique audiences, and creating content that is highly relevant to each

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of professional copywriting/art direction experience.
• Knowledge of how write for a variety of deliverables and channels, including social media, direct mail, display, email, landing pages, video
• Experience writing for financial services
• Experience mentoring other writers
• Working knowledge of web usability/accessibility, advertising technologies, and development methods.
• Must be accomplished in Acrobat and Microsoft Word, and also understand design software used across the team (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma)
• Advanced copy skills rooted in audience insights.
• Experience presenting creative work to internal peers and clients
• Pre-production skills needed and an understanding of all technical aspects of producing Direct Mail (including postal requirements), Online Display, Email, Social and Digital Experiences.
• Experienced with best practices for response by channel and funnel position to support brand and demand
• Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies (e.g., DCO, Content Velocity, Dynamic Video, Modular Content Systems).

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000-$110,000/year. Salary is based on a range of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
