DESCRIPTION
The City of Shoreview is hiring a part-time custodian to work afternoons and evenings assisting our full-time cleaning, maintenance and Community Center staff.
The Shoreview Community Center is a fast-paced environment with over 500,000 visitors to our facility each year. The Community Center is 120,000 square feet including a fitness center, gymnasium, walking/running track, aerobics studios, childcare facilities, concessions area and indoor water park. We also have several meeting rooms and two large banquet rooms with kitchen facilities.
Training and orientation is provided to new employees.
DUTIES INCLUDE
- Room and equipment set-ups/tear down and cleaning after use
- Interior cleaning and maintenance of the Community Center/City Hall complex (clean/check/restock restrooms; clean concession seating area; check/empty trash; clean/wipe down fitness equipment; vacuuming; etc.)
- Follow appropriate procedures and work in a safe manner
- Arrive on time for shift
- Maintain timesheet with accurate hours worked
- Find substitute for work shift if a planned absence is necessary
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift/move 50-100 lbs.
OTHER
Wage: $13.00 – $17.50 per hour depending on experience.
Hours:
Current shift availability is generally,
- 7am – 3pm Saturday and Sunday, every other weekend
- 12 noon – 8pm Sunday, every other weekend
Additional shifts may include: 12 noon – 5 pm rotating weekdays (5 weekdays per two week pay period).
