Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Communications, this role is accountable for the conception and mobilization of the internal communications strategy for a network of agencies focused on digital experience. The ideal candidate will be an expert communicator who values accountability and has experience architecting and implementing internal communications programs for complex, matrixed organizations. An ability to build meaningful partnerships and trust with C-suite leadership while managing parallel workstreams and priorities being led by multiple stakeholders is critical.

This role requires equal parts big-picture, out-of-the-box, strategic capability and an operational, practical, hands-on approach to ensuring a program’s success. Outstanding writing and editing skills, experience navigating end-to-end corporate communications, and an understanding of the innate interconnectivity between organization communications, executive communications, and external communications are all essential to success in the role.

PLEASE NOTE: This role is based in our New York City office and will require onsite collaboration an average of 3 days/week. You must be local to the NYC metro area and willing to work in a hybrid onsite/remote capacity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop an internal communications framework across multiple U.S.-based agencies.
  • Concept, plan, and implement internal communication plans in partnership with the executive leadership team, human resources, learning and development, and other teams.
  • Own Editor-in-Chief responsibilities for internal publications and cultivation of a cross-agency editorial board/newsroom.
  • Communicate organizational programs, events, and stories to our people across a variety of internal channels (newsletters, events, email, intranet, online communities, news, video, and more).
  • Facilitate dialogue and feedback collection internally, ensuring feedback collection and two-way dialogue.
  • Work collaboratively on engaging corporate projects and campaigns that span executive communications, business strategy, learning and development, diversity & inclusion, HR, and recognition.
  • Monitor activities and deliverables to track progress against the schedule, resolve issues, manage changes, and deliver quality project requirements.
  • Work directly with internal and external stakeholders including vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Build-out and continuously improve internal processes to improve execution and overall decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 7-9 years of progressively responsible experience leading corporate or internal communications programs required; experience within an advertising agency environment would be ideal.
  • An understanding of how to navigate sensitive, high-impact conversations with executive leadership teams and other partners.
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools (Campaign Monitor, MailChimp, etc.) and content management systems.
  • Experience reviewing campaign performance and related analytics to help inform future campaign improvements and efficiencies.
  • Comfortable working with both creative and templated communications campaigns including building newsletters for distribution across entire employee population.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a bonus.
  • As comfortable collaborating as part of a team as you are working alone.
  • Relevant writing samples should be provided at time of application.

Compensation Range: $110,500 – $144,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
