Job Summary:
The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department is seeking applicants for the Associate Director of Compliance. This position will join a team of four other full-time compliance staff members working together to support student-athletes within 23 sports. The compliance team welcomes any and all skill sets and experiences that can be utilized to directly or indirectly impact the day-to-day operations of the compliance office. Key job responsibilities will include:
– Coordinate recruiting monitoring efforts including but not limited to reviewing official/unofficial visit documentation, recruiting reimbursement requests, phone logs/off-campus recruiting logs, and sport specific dead period reminders.
– Support coaches/prospects/student-athletes navigating initial eligibility and amateurism matters as the NCAA Eligibility Center liaison.
– Serve as compliance liaison for certain sports.
– Oversee completion of annual rules education requirement for coaches.
– Assist with department wide compliance educational efforts.
– Additional duties based on experience.
– Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance.
Responsibilities: Compiles and classifies reports in support of a specific compliance program, assists leadership in regulatory report creation, coordinates notification issuance, and assists with the development and implementation of institution-wide policies to ensure compliance with institutional policies and/or laws and regulations.
- 35% Assists leadership with developing and publishing compliance reports in accordance with established laws and regulations
- 35% Audits and serves as a subject matter expert and point of contact for potentially affected units and affiliated organizations, ensuring appropriate notices are issued relating to compliance
- 30% Collaborates with other institutional compliance subject matter experts to review procedures and make change recommendations to leadership

Minimum Qualifications
At least two years of NCAA athletics experience. NCAA athletics experience may include time spent as an intern/graduate assistant, student-athlete, coach, or any other comparable experiences within NCAA athletics.

– Work experience in Division I Collegiate Athletics compliance administration

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included.
