Basic Job Functions
This role is tasked with owning NYBG’s Institutional email process, online giving and platform (currently Luminate) – including strategy, campaign scheduling, list management, and overall management to foster a best-practice approach for digital communication. The Associate Director works collaboratively with multiple departments across the organization to be the topic expert in email communication, while representing Earned Income and the Marketing Department goals of growing a dedicated and engaged email audience for NYBG’s many diverse offerings and programs. The Associate Director should also be analytical and passionate about the email digital quality, process, and efficiency, and have the ability to multitask and produce a high volume of work with great attention to detail, balancing multiple deadlines. The Associate Director should have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, as the current ESP / online giving platform (Luminate) requires it, as well as familiarity with Google UTM and other tracking and Analytics. The position also works with multiple NYBG departments, and is responsible in developing relationships with external partners and vendors. The position will be assigned other digital marketing tasks as needed.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end email process, from strategy, creation of templates, image placement, content development, through deployment
• Align email marketing strategy with NYBG site content updates and social schedule to ensure consistent content share across constituent groups
• Support NYBG website content, CMS backend, building forms and related content as needed
• Develop and optimize list segmentation strategy to provide more customized content for engagement, transactions, and brand loyalty
• Oversee email acquisition strategy through digital and onsite capture, recommended promotions, and other marketing channels
• Work with NYBG Advertising Agency to maintain email performance reports to provide recommendations for email optimization through Google Analytics and UTM codes
• Create and maintain all online giving donation forms, special event ticketing and corresponding financials with Development and the Special Events department
• Train internal colleagues in creating and distributing emails and ensuring quality database management of departmental contacts
• Manage and lead internal Digital Coordinator, as well as key relationships with external agencies, such as Luminate, and other online fundraising platforms as needed
• Ensures all digital projects follow NYBG Brand Guidelines, and are up-to-date with accessibility WCAG best practice and follow the latest compliance requirements for privacy domestically (CANSPAM, CCPA) and internationally (GDPR)
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of Digital Marketing and/or Electronic Communications experience or similar required; Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work in fast paced environment
• Strong organizational and verbal communication skills, extreme attention to detail
• Experience with analytical and database management a plus
• Continued interest in best practice and innovations in digital communication and social media
• Experience in Luminate Online, HTML, CSS, and Content Management Systems, WordPress, and other web-based publishing platforms preferred.
• Experience with compliance requirements for privacy rules, and WCAG familiarity a plus
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Basic video file editing from iMovie, Adobe Creative Cloud, or comparable, a plus

Salary is commensurate with experience within the following range $80,000 -$90,000.
