The mission of the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and consumer energy costs by advancing clean energy, energy efficiency, and zero emission vehicles to benefit all Coloradans. We do this by developing and implementing highly impactful policies and programs, establishing Colorado as a leading state for climate action. The Colorado Energy Office is a great place to work, with collaborative and talented employees who are passionate about our mission and a flexible hybrid (work from home/work from office) atmosphere. Employees report high satisfaction with their work, their colleagues and manager, and CEO leadership. Join us!

CEO carries out its mission, in part, by intervening in Commission proceedings where it can bring a unique perspective representing the interests of the Governor’s Office and the State of Colorado. This includes advocating for policies that support statewide greenhouse gas emissions reductions, Governor Polis’s priorities of setting Colorado on a path to 100 percent renewable energy for the grid by 2040, and positioning Colorado as a leader in the clean energy economy.

The Regulatory group on the Policy Team provides ongoing policy, research, and technical assistance on energy and greenhouse gas pollution reduction matters to the Colorado General Assembly, and the Colorado Public Utilities Commission.

CEO currently has an opportunity for an Associate Director (AD) on the Policy team. The AD will be a key leader on the team, supporting the Senior Director in management of staff, strategic planning and budgeting, and interfacing with other CEO units. The AD will initially manage a team of 4 to 6 staff with the possibility of additional staff in coming years. An ideal candidate will have experience with planning, budgeting and leading teams, a compassionate leadership style, strong attention to detail, a dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and active listening skills.

We are committed to increasing the diversity of our staff and providing culturally responsive programs and services. Therefore, we encourage responses from people of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
