Job Summary
Responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the Activity Center (100,000 sq ft) Rec Center West (25,000 sq ft) and SPN Facility (8,000 sq ft). Supervise three full-time staff and their areas. Coordinate repairs and upgrades with on and off-campus vendors and contractors. Develop long and short-range maintenance plans. Serve as the point of contact for all facility reservations including management of scheduling software; submit invoices and Auto JEs (journal entries) as needed for facility rentals; assist with event set up and tear down; perform general maintenance tasks as needed; fiscal management and budget oversight; nights and weekends as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree – Sports Management, Recreation or related field. Three to five years experience in administering IM program, risk management in regards to travel, and teaching non-credit courses. One to three years experience in university setting.

Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Campus Recreation or related field. 3 – 5 years experience with facility operations, staff supervision, and maintenance. HVAC system knowledge, general facility repairs, and a high level of customer service. Must be able to interact with a wide variety of users and professional staff members. Communicate effectively and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement long and short-term maintenance of the Activity Center, Rec Center West, and SPN Facility.
  • Coordinate bids, review proposals, and make recommendations.-Serve as the point of contact for on and off-campus vendors and contractors.
  • Coordinate maintenance projects with minimal disruption to users and programs.
  • Oversee indoor facility scheduling to include all internal and external reservation requests.
  • Invoice users per rental costs. Process auto JEs (journal entries)/IDTs as needed.
  • Meet with users as required to discuss and review their event needs.
  • Assist with coordinating FM (Facility Management) and custodial support, security, and staffing needs.
  • Supervise three full-time personnel and assist with general maintenance of the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Daily work schedule is 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Additional Information
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
