We are currently seeking applicants for an Associate Engineer, Field Service Tooling.
The Role
- Collaborate with Service Engineering in design, prototyping, and validation of engineering tools.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to efficiently turn prototypes into production tools for the Service environment if necessary.
- Adapt early engineering based tools into tooling more suitable for a production environment.
- Ability to interpret the needs of engineering teams and provide hands-on evaluation of deliverables
- Ability to interpret various technical specifications and apply to documentation
- Take projects from idea to finished product as smoothly and under time constraints to produce excellent results
- When needed, adapt to various other responsibilities within the Service Engineering environment quickly
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- 2+ years of automotive experience, EV experience helpful
- 1+ year of relevant experience in tooling
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Flexible work availability and ability to travel as needed to support service efforts.
- Mindfulness and a passion for creating positive team experiences.
- Exceptional ability to interface and collaborate with individuals, groups, and vendors.
- Proficient in navigating a laptop or computer in a windows environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to effectively navigate internal business platforms.
- Experience using test tools.
- 3DExperience / CATIA V6, V5
- Jira, Confluence, Jama
- Figma, Grafana, Tableau, data analysis tools
- Scripting / programming skills helpful (VBScript, Python, C++, etc.)
- SalesForce experience a plus
- Vehicle Networking – Vector CAN tools (CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer)
Knowledge of Engineering Software Tools:
Advantageous Experience:

- Field experience with automotive specialty tooling
- Automotive Technical School or equivalent, ASE or SAE certifications are advantageous
- Technical writing experience
- Experience in writing procedures for use in the field.
- Familiarity with automotive service manual standards and values
- Hands-on experience working on vehicles
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education, and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
• California (Bay Area) – $92,000 – $126,500 per year
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
