Assists in providing HR support and consultation to assigned business segment (Corporate clients), planning, and demonstrating the value of human capital management in support of the business strategy to achieve superior business results. This role will assist in developing and implementing action plans which will strengthen business segment competitive advantage, as well as communicate and educate managers and employees on HR policies and practices, programs, and initiatives supporting the company’s business strategies.
All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in providing consultative and collaborative support to assigned business segments in all areas of human resources, including talent management, compensation planning, employee relations and policy interpretation and administration.
- Counsel managers, supervisors, and employees on performance issues up to and including termination of employment, ensuring proper processes and documentation. Conducts exit interview with employees voluntarily leaving the organization.
- Assist with communicating policies and procedures to employees and answering policy and procedure questions from employees.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to coordinate regular, temporary, summer, and cooperative education staffing needs, including interviewing, selection, placement, and compensation.
- Partner with other Centers of Excellence (‘COEs’) to assist with culture and engagement, talent review process, succession planning, development plans, workforce planning and total rewards. Assist in the communication and delivery of all talent strategies for assigned business segments.
- Assist with providing training to management and employees in the areas of employment law, performance management, year-end processes, and other related topics.
- Work closely with employees and leaders to build, improve and support strong business relationships, employee engagement, productivity, performance, and retention.
- Assist in analyzing and disseminating employee-related analytics, and assist with the development of plans to address any concerns, enhance strengths, measure effectiveness of plans, etc.
- Applies a high degree of confidentiality, ethics and integrity to all employee matters and interactions.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- College degree in related discipline preferred.
- 5+ years as a human resources generalist with experience in a service industry.
- Experience with Talent Management, total rewards, performance management, employee relations.
- Excellent communication and relationship management.
- Travel required up to 15%, travel to Selective’s Connecticutoffice on a quarterly basis.
Salary range:$80,000 – $132,100. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective’s footprint. Additional considerations include the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
