The Sam’s Club Associate Manager of Category Insights – Designate will lead strategic projects and drive commercial impact on our $2.4B business. This role is designed to be highly developmental, engaging with key stakeholders across multiple functions. This grooming role experience will help you on-board to the Walmart Inc team, lead ownable meaningful work, and gain exposure to Commercial Insights, Commercial, eComm, Marketing, and Supply Chain. The intent is to prepare you to step into an Associate Manager role within Strategy and Insights, with strong initial on-boarding plan and opportunity to contribute to key aspects of our purpose agenda (e.g., Pep+, Employee Resource Groups, Racial Equality Journey)

Responsibilities

  • Develop cross portfolio insights, opportunities and recommendations by leveraging broad range of data and engage with the customer to share actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with the Advanced Analytics to develop and maintain reporting and analytics tools in collaboration to supports quick access to data and analytics across Beverage and Snacks.
  • Learn and master Luminate and Madrid which is a key data insights resources we leverage on Walmart and Sam’s Club.
  • Collaborate with Director of Commercial Insights, Ecommerce, and Sales to scope and define new growth opportunities, both in Club and Online.
  • Utilize your experience in analytics, insights, and storytelling to convey actionable insights.

Compensation & Benefits:
• The expected compensation range for this position is between $81,000 – $135,600.
• Location confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
• Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
• Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 2-4 years of category management or insights experience is strongly desired
  • Experience with industry resources (e.g. IRI or Nielsen, Luminate, 8451, Euromonitor, Mintel, Kantar, etc)
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns, opportunities and gaps, and integrate across disparate data sources
  • Intermediate expertise in Power BI or Tableau
  • Collaboration is essential in this role as the person will work very closely with internal teams, cross-functional internal teams, and HQ/Business Units teams
  • Strong planning/organizing skills: capable of managing major projects simultaneously
  • Strong teamwork skills: possess exceptional group facilitation skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a growth mindset and intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely
