As part of the NBCUniversal Direct to Consumer Group, you will be an expert on metadata, sports data, content management tools, and workflow within several of NBCUniversal’s brands such as NBC, NBC Sports, Golf, Bravo, Oxygen, SYFY, USA, E!, Telemundo, and NBC Olympics. This is a high visibility, highly collaborative role working with many teams to foster metadata quality awareness and best practices in product development and content integration. Passion for data analysis is a must, as is deep knowledge of data analysis concepts, tools, and practices. You will work with business units across the organization to ensure alignment and consistency in our data model and explore new ways to unify them to drive engagement and revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Support and analyze business processes and develop new and optimized workflows.
  • Maintain and management of sports data model and sports/entertainment taxonomies.
  • Conduct product and user data analysis to help with personalization, clustering, and targeting efforts to create the best product experience for customers.
  • Define metadata requirements from source to output to enable cross-system reporting.
  • Lead efforts to improve data quality, consistency, and integrity across all data sources
  • Work with the platform product managers and engineers to ensure accuracy with analytics implementation through quality assurance (QA)
  • Monitor Product KPIs and Quality of Service metrics to identify data and tagging issues.
  • Create visualizations, dashboards, and presentations that will evangelize our experimentation efforts, becoming a key voice in the discussion to enable better product features.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritize backlog of user stories for implementation.
  • Using both functional and technical knowledge, help users solve problems, design solutions, and help develop process and technology solutions that meet business needs.
  • Provide a clear vision to support technical development, including but not limited to product documentation, user stories, data process flows, use cases, sequence diagrams, and product training documentation.
  • Serve as a lead liaison between editorials, content operations, platform product, and technology teams, leading and managing planning work, identifying issues and needs, building consensus, and developing solutions across units as required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in product development and/or management, analytics, or research role, with proficiency in exploratory data analysis and visualization
  • Experience with at least one Digital Analytics platform (Adobe Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics)
  • Experience with user behavior tracking tools to capture conversion events (e.g. mParticle, MixPanel)
  • Experience with a data visualization tool (Domo, Tableau, Looker)
  • Understanding of product tagging and data governance
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex information to stakeholders.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
