The Office of the Registrar supports the academic mission of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of students’ official academic records and supporting the institutional mission for undergraduate, graduate and professional education.

The Office of the Registrar is currently seeking to fill the role of Associate Registrar. This position is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating and managing critical systems administered through the Office of the Registrar as well as work directly with Information Technology Services to direct implementation, maintenance and user access to the Student Information Systems (Banner), Degree Works, EMS, Argos and other mission critical ancillary systems.

The Associate Registrar works closely with all other campus units to coordinate use, maintenance and training related these systems and manages the generation and analysis of student and enrollment data as well the development of reports used by all levels of University operations and administrative personnel.

This position is also responsible for overseeing and administrating all functions of communication and Registrar websites. It also is responsible for exploring new technology, making recommendations and supporting the implementation of initiatives for the Office of the Registrar and for the University. Serves as a member of the management team within the Office of the Registrar. Serves as the lead office administrator in the absence of the Registrar.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

1. Any combination totaling six years from the following categories:

a) progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession

b) college course work with a concentration in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

60 semester hours or Associate’s Degree equals one year

90 semester hours equals two years

120 semester hours or Bachelor’s Degree equals three years

(Note: Only a maximum of 3 years credit for college course work is available.)

2. Two (2) years of total work experience in a supervisory or lead worker capacity.

Note: As required by the position to be filled, additional education, training and/or work experience in an area of specialization inherent in the position may be necessary in meeting credential requirements.

Bachelor’s degree required.

Five or more years of work in University system including extensive work with student information systems.Demonstrate ability to excel in progressively responsible positions in Registrar/Records/Enrollment Management.

Four or more years of report writing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to work well in a collaborative environment.Analytical ability.Detailed knowledge of University policies and procedures. Proficient in various components of Banner, CougarNet, ImageNow, WebNow, Degree Works, EMS, TOAD, including system entry, interpretation, updating and retrieval. Strong reasoning and analytical skills, written, verbal, and PC skills required, including experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft PowerBi, SQL, and HTML or website design abilities.

$70,974 – $79,448 annually; salary commensurate with experience
