Associate, Retention Marketing

Dow Jones is seeking an Associate, Retention Marketing. The Associate will support the retention team’s goal of lowering subscription churn and improving customer retention across The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and MarketWatch brands.

This role will report into the Manager, Retention Marketing and will work cross-functionally with teams across the subscription marketing funnel (Acquisition, Engagement, Brand, Creative, Product etc..).

Role based in New York City, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Implement marketing tactics for retaining subscribers. The strategy must employ a multi-touch approach; integrating channels such as: email, social media, web, mobile, and more to retain customers, coordinating activity across multiple channels.
  • Assist Retention managers in planning and executing campaigns to improve subscriber churn across Dow Jones subscription brands.
  • Partner with technical Engineering and Subscription Product teams to test and improve the online cancellation experience.
  • Collect, analyze and review data to measure effectiveness of digital strategies, and effectively communicate insights with the broader team and business.
  • Partner with the Finance team to create and maintain monthly budgeting and forecasting to track how retention metrics affect the overall business volume and revenue.
  • Engage with Tech and Experience teams to execute end-to-end UI/UX experimentations (from concept to implementation to distilling resulting data).
  • Develop relationships within the larger Marketing Group, ensuring the cross-team collaboration is flawless.
  • Collaborate with the wider CRM team to execute proactive strategies that support subscriber retention.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years experience working in a marketing, subscriptions business or media role. A retention-focused role is a plus.
  • A proven track record in developing retention strategies and reducing churn.
  • Exhibits a goals-driven, customer-first approach to finding solutions.
  • Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to synthesize raw data into actionable campaign optimization strategies for new and existing initiatives.
  • Outstanding cross-group collaboration, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, problem solving, and executive presentation skills are required.
  • The ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment, as well as manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • The ability to self prioritize and foresee challenges/roadblocks (and plan for them accordingly)
  • The ability to document processes and project plans clearly and effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business from accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

Pay Range: $40,000 – $160,000
