The Boeing National Team is seeking a motivated and talented Associate Software Engineer to support the development, integration, verification, and test of the Command and Control, Battle Management Communications (C2BMC) system in Colorado Springs, CO . C2BMC is the system integration piece of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and defends the United States homeland and allies all over the world! This Software Engineer will be on the C2BMC JEMINI program supporting the development of future missile defense capabilities.

The C2BMC National Team provides technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Contract. C2BMC is the integrating element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System and links various sensors and weapon systems. The system provides capabilities to integrate and synchronize missile defense systems and operations, providing a layered defense against multiple ranges of threats and in all phases of flight.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Provide in-depth analysis and technical support of a large, distributed system written in Java
  • Perform complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user-support for a large code baseline
  • Follow specifications in order to develop or modify functionality within the code
  • Assist with design, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation
  • Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards and improve overall efficiency of the system
  • Design, code, test and implement tools for automation

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Colorado Springs, CO OR Huntsville, AL)

This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities.

This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control board.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance . (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications: (Required Skills/ Experience)

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
  • 2+ years’ experience with development of C/C++, Java, and/or Linux Operating Systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Qualifications) :

  • Command and control system application development
  • Automated test and pipeline development experience
  • Experience with software Integration testing including developing automated test scripts
  • Experience designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers; experience setting up a container environment
  • Experience with message translation software
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify mitigation
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Knowledge of software practices and coding standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend and develop a solution
  • Experience working as part of an Agile team
  • Familiarity with Java Spring
  • Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker/Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of server side development and message passing
  • Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle and Eclipse
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment

Typical Education/Experience :

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $85,000 – $115,000
