GET TO KNOW THE ROLE

The Assistant Beverage Manager is responsible for assisting the Beverage Manager with overseeing multiple beverage outlets, providing support to ensure the delivery of efficient service, quality products, superior guest and team member service, and compliance with all casino’s internal controls, and federal, state, and tribal regulations, to maximize casino revenue. Assists with the daily operation of the beverage department, in the absence of the Beverage Manager. Assists with the hiring, training, and scheduling of staff.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Be the face of MCR for new hires and team members; exemplify MCR’s values and set a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism.
  • Practice, support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort.
  • Direct and review staff scheduling and regularly reviews all staff performance with the Beverage Manager.
  • Oversee liquor beer and wine inventories.
  • Oversee the compliance of the State Board of Health Regulations and the Liquor Control Board with the Beverage Manager.
  • Ensure the training of all beverage staff and keeps staff updated on policies, procedures, and special events.
  • Assist with management functions such as interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and providing feedback to supervisors and staff, rewarding, and disciplining staff and providing overall direction and guidance for the department.
  • Assist with developing and implementing schedules for the operation, while maximizing service levels and achieving profitable results.
  • Assist with increasing beverage revenues through research and taking positive steps to adjust or change menu offerings, service, portion control, presentation, and waste.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining records, reports, and other documentation as required to meet company and business expectations.
  • Review daily punch edits and monitors preset par levels.
  • Assist in maintaining all beverage departmental team member files.
  • Assist in planning and administering a training and development program with the department which will provide well trained team members at all levels.
  • Assists in establishing effective communication within the Food and Beverage department to ensure the staff is aware and prepared for all daily and special events and projects.
  • Assist with ensuring the maintenance of safety and sanitation standards and policies, assuring compliance with internal and external guidelines, standards, and regulations.
  • Assist with working with marketing to develop menu and beverage advertising, and keeps current with all special events and promotional activities.
  • Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive work environment; promote positive team member relations and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Ability to obtain a Class III A gaming license.
  • 5 (five) years of hospitality experience and at least 3 (three) years Beverage Supervisor /Management
  • Experience may be substituted for some educational requirements.
  • One year of managerial or supervisory courses in the hospitality industry is required.
  • Must have and maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit.
  • Must have and maintain a Class 12 Alcohol Service Permit.

HOW YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Knowledge of all cocktails, beer, and wine.
  • Knowledge of cost/sales percentages, pricing, and sales analysis.
  • Knowledge of health & safety standards, and safety regulations as required.
  • Skilled in effectively communicating both verbally and in writing. Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to work well with subordinates and management.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Availability – Ability to work different shifts, holidays, weekends, and nights to support a 24/7 operation.
  • Physical – Ability to maneuver in all areas of the casino, ascent/descent from stairs, frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and/or prolonged periods of time focusing on tasks. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. May regularly need to lift/ move, push or pull up material or boxes necessary to the job function, with or without assistance.
  • Environment – Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) while working and traversing on the gaming floor.
