Position Summary:
Assists legal department with complex legal issues and provides legal advise to hospital administration on various matters requiring legal guidance on contractual agreements; health care; regulatory laws, fraud and abuse / compliance matters and appropriate deal and arrangement structures.
This position reviews contracts to ensure legal, compliance, risk management, and overall contract quality assurance. This position is also directly responsible for drafting and negotiating a variety of contractual arrangements including but not limited to Professional Services Agreements, Software License Agreements, Requests for Proposals, Bid Solicitations, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Clinical Trial Agreements, etc.. The Attorney advises on complex competitive solicitation issues to be compliant with county, state and/or federal requirements. The Attorney identifies, communicates and escalates (as appropriate) contract issues and deviations from established contract guidelines and works with the contracting team and internal stakeholders to address those issues with vendors. Ideal candidates have exceptional writing, listening, analytical and problem-solving skills. They are detail-oriented and have interpersonal and negotiation skills to work productively when faced with challenging work situations, confidentiality, and time pressures.
Job Requirement
Education/Experience:
Juris Doctorate degree and two (2) years of legal experience in medical legal affairs, contracts, healthcare regulatory law, government public works and purchasing, or related field. Experience in legal issues related to both the clinical and business operations of a hospital. Experience representing or working with a governmental entity, government relations related to compliance with local government law applicable to governmental agencies (i.e., open meeting law, public records act, state purchasing laws and budget requirements).
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Nevada license to practice law in state court and eligibility to practice law before the federal and appellate courts of the State of Nevada. Valid class C Nevada Driver’s License.
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements
- MINIMUM OF TWO (2) YEARS EXPERIENCE PRIMARILY REVIEWING AND DRAFTING CONTRACTS.
- MINIMUM OF ONE (1) YEAR EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A LAW FIRM OR IN A CORPORATE LEGAL DEPARTMENT

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone.
