Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

Support audio-visual support functions for the enterprise, working with employees and vendors. Support daily service and special events, ensuring high-quality services and optimal customer satisfaction. Provide presentation and communications support and production services for corporate meetings and special events, including audio- and videoconferencing, audio-visual equipment, audio and video-streaming, and presentation capabilities. Work to maintain state-of-the-art audio-visual and presentation equipment, systems, and facilities. Consult with field offices on audio-visual equipment and support. This position is based full time in our Hartford office.

What Will You Do?

  • Support AV strategy, equipment standards, processes/procedures. Work with Corporate Communications, Claim Communications, Corporate Events, Corporate Real Estate on AV equipment/meeting room needs.
  • Provide AV support for corporate meetings and special events, and all aspects of in-house video production, including setup, filming, editing, and distribution of media.
  • Support streamed events (scheduling, coordinating meetings, verifying roles and tasks, following up, acting as on-site troubleshooter, preparing for and scheduling replays).
  • Support a wide array of audio-visual presentation and communications solutions, including audio and video streaming (involves testing, maintaining communications with offsite participants [e.g., e-mailed questions for real-time response by presenters], correcting lighting and sound, preparing PowerPoint slides for inclusion in streamed event, recording on DVD, editing taped event and posting on Inside-TV for streamed replay, scheduling replays).
  • Recommend and implement upgrades in training/meeting facilities.
  • Provide continuous improvement through solicitation of customer feedback.
  • Help maintain equipment to provide an effective learning/meeting environment.
  • Support the needs of training staff, employees in classes/meetings, and visitors with appropriate facilities, equipment, connectivity, timeliness, and quality of support services.
  • Set up and provide basic training for participants in videoconference calls; troubleshoot.
  • Help resolve problems in systems and facilities, working with Voice Engineering, Network Control, IS, and others.
  • Support the maintenance of audio-visual equipment and facilities.
  • Serve as interim AV Manager when Manager is out of the office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s Degree a plus.
  • Prior experience in audio-visual and/or conference center operations.
  • Ability to manage variety of projects simultaneously to ensure their timely, accurate, and high-quality completion.
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule, and monitor a high volume of tasks.
  • Must take initiative, strong commitment to customer service, high level of attention to detail, ability to manage continual deadline pressures and changes in priorities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to respond quickly to crises and to provide creative solutions.
  • Strong communications skills to work effectively with internal clients and external resources.

What is a Must Have?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
