- Our firm’s Audit practice seeks an accomplished Audit Senior with strong technical skills, leadership capabilities and a passion for our profession, to join our Manufacturing and Distribution (M&D) Audit team. In this position you will utilize your technical skills and experience to serve as a trusted adviser and lead member of the engagement team, to provide sophisticated assurance and advisory services to a wide range of valued clients in the Manufacturing & Distribution (M&D) sector. You will also assist in the professional development of other audit staff and participate in client proposals and other new business development opportunities with firm leadership.
- Clients served in the M&D audit segment include manufacturers, distributors, retailers, shipping, professional services, large corporate, multi-national, and other SEC registrants.
- The preferred location for the position is our Long Island (Woodbury NY) office. Our firm offers a hybrid working environment.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with engagement team to plan the audit objectives, and determine a risk-based audit strategy for the engagement
- Establish expectations of the audit team and level of services to be delivered
- Lead the audit engagement and oversee competing priorities that may arise
- Provide guidance to audit staff and participate in audit procedures that impact more complex or specialized issues facing a client
- Identify accounting and audit risks using US GAAP, IFRS, US GAAS, IAS, and PCAOB auditing standards
- Supervise engagement fieldwork to ensure quality service and timely results
- Anticipate and address client concerns, and escalate any issues to engagement Manager and Partner as they arise
- Understand the client industries, and recognize business trends, emerging industry and technical developments, and key performance drivers that may impact a client’s business
- Participate in the professional development of other audit staff through knowledge sharing, on-site training, timely performance feedback, and other firm initiatives
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and identify opportunities for expanded firm services that benefit client
- Develop a strategy for successful long-term professional relationships and centers of influence to effectuate business growth
- Ensure self-professional development with technical specialization and on-going education.
What We Seek:
- Bachelor of Science degree in accounting or a business-related field
- CPA license or eligible to sit for CPA exam
- 3+ years of relevant work experience providing financial audit services in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, or an audit consulting practice
- Previous work experience developing and executing audit strategies for manufacturing, distributors, and large corporate, multi-national and SEC clients
- Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, US GAAS, IAS, and PCAOB standards
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Working knowledge of ProSystem Engagement and other audit-related software programs
- Demonstrated success developing and sustaining strong client relationships
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to travel to various client locations at times
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Salary: $90k-$110k.
