Pay Range
$43.78 – $54.35 Hourly
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
Job Description
We have an opening for an AutoCAD/Technical/Field Documentation Coordinator.You will provide technical coordination, documentation, and identification of facility electrical and mechanical equipment for the purpose of configuration management and preventive maintenance. This position is in the Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Department within the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) Directorate.This position may require work at Site 300 in Tracy, California.
You will
- Create, revise, and archive electronic drawings, including native AutoCAD, Revit, and raster formats; maintain CAD templates and libraries and transition to using the Global Information System.
- Responsible for CAD-related software, hardware, subscriptions, and network licenses.
- Manage the Facility Document Center’s drawing index and database, ensuring that information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Identify and obtain equipment nameplate and other technical data and coordinate the input of data into various database and AutoCAD drawings; provide input and recommendations to engineering design drawings.
- Provide advanced coordination and documentation of real property and installed equipment inside and outside facilities at Site 200 and Site 300; anticipate and resolve complex technical problems pertaining to facility related systems.
- Coordinate the implementation of documentation support by contacting key personnel; anticipate and reconcile support problems, including technical factors affecting critical milestones; provide input to established procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Interact regularly with co-workers, scientists, engineers, construction and project management, and skilled technical personnel with follow-up to supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security requirements and LLNL policies and procedures; resolve and report hazards or potential hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Associate degree in an electrical or mechanical technology or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Intermediate skills and understanding of electrical and/or mechanical structures and systems and how they work together as well as understanding of the standards, procedures and techniques related to equipment systems and documentation.
- Advanced Experience and knowledge of CAD and associated software and experience working in and managing the operations of AutoCAD and/or Revit in a facilities management or architectural/engineering environment.
- Ability to identify problems and provide solutions to moderately complex technical documentation of building systems including reading and interpreting engineering blueprint drawings. Advanced technical skills and knowledge to anticipate and resolve complex technical problems.
- Possess effective written, verbal, and presentation skills necessary to interact tactfully and effectively with a diverse, multi-discipline personnel.
- Experience interpreting and applying technical and ES&H requirements and standards.
- Proven ability to make independent technical decisions and solve complex design problems that may have significant consequences to broad segments and/or sections of a major project.
- Experience with personal computers and associated software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Access, Word, and Excel.
Qualifications We Desire
- Experience in a construction and/or maintenance environment.
- Knowledge of DOE Order 430.1C, Real Property Asset Management.

Site 300
Site 300 is an experimental test site operated by LLNL. Situated on 7,000 acres in rural foothills approximately six miles southwest of downtown Tracy and 15 miles southeast of Livermore, Site 300 hosts approximately 200 employees with expertise in such fields as engineering, chemistry, biology, and environmental restoration. Employees assigned to work at Site 300 may be exposed to the organism that causes San Joaquin Valley Fever (coccidioidomycosis ).
Security Clearance
This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
