  • Have the ability to work independently with minimal oversight and have a demonstrated ability to follow through on projects in a timely manner.
  • Have a genuine interest in learning the role of in-house IP counsel in a fast-paced global corporate environment.
  • Have strong desire to build skills in contracting engagement and review process.
  • Are comfortable performing legal research and drafting memoranda for various matters pertaining to the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Under attorney supervision, draft and review office action responses, issue spot and comment/redline office action responses, patent applications, and other legal documents.
  • Support invention disclosures intake, technology classification of disclosures and patent applications.
  • Assist the IP Team with freedom-to-operate & patentability search and analysis,.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects related to the IP function.
  • Report on your progress in a timely manner.

Qualifications

The Skills Needed for the Job

  • Rising 2L or 3L currently enrolled full-time at an accredited law school.
  • Interest in learning about role of in-house counsel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, biomechanical engineering, material science and engineering, medical devices and instrumentation engineering, biomedical physics, and physics.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Additional Information

  • This position will be an hybrid/(onsite) work role.
  • Relocation may be available for qualified candidates.
