Overview
As an Underwriter/Portfolio manager this is an opportunity to work for the industry leading customer credit department for a top 20 Bank, with advancement opportunities both in the department and other functional areas of Commercial Services, CIT, and First Citizens Bank. The Underwriting/PM will work within a team construct to assist in the credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle-market companies, specifically in ABL & Specialty Finance markets. Your responsibilities will include transaction structuring, performing due diligence, presenting approval requests, negotiating legal documents, closing transactions and managing relationships post close.
This role offers a hybrid schedule in that 3 days are working in the office and 2 days are working remotely.
Responsibilities
The Underwriter/Portfolio Manager will work within a team construct to assist in the credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle-market companies, specifically in ABL & Specialty Finance markets.
Responsibilities include:

- Transaction structuring, performing due diligence, presenting approval requests, negotiating legal documents, closing transactions and managing relationships post close.
- Specific duties include financial modeling, analyzing third party collateral reporting, creating sensitivity scenarios and liquidation recovery projections.
- Ensure compliance with CIT Policies & Procedures and check work thoroughly for accuracy.
- Remain well-informed of portfolio account performance and communicate updates regularly to Credit personnel.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of CIT/FCB systems and resources.
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is $110,000 – $120,000. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- B.A. in Business, Accounting or Finance and minimum of 2 – 4 years experience.
Other Qualifications:
- M.B.A. in Business, Accounting or Finance, preferred
- Completion of a formal credit training program, preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks with changing priorities
- Experience in commercial bank lending field
- Familiarity with financial modeling and credit analysis
- Skill with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in ABL and/or Specialty Finance Lending including familiarity with Borrowing Bases, field examinations and asset appraisals, preferred
- Ability to function independently and as part of a small team
