Job Summary:
This position will operate plant truck (less than 26,000 lb. gross weight) in the delivery of dairy products on the local-Madison campus and to other state agencies. Individual unloads trucks, moves stock between storage rooms and the production plant. May also assist with the manufacture of products made at the Babcock Hall dairy plant. Work is performed under general supervision.

Responsibilities: Operates institutional vehicles which transport packages, material, and/or personnel in a pick up and delivery capacity to support university transportation needs.
- 25% Picks up and delivers freight to and from internal and external affiliates as directed
- 30% Operates vehicles and other equipment; and navigates vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic in congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and parking lots
- 10% Unloads, stages, inspects, and inventories freight to ensure accuracy and acceptable condition according to established rules and regulations
- 10% Inspects, maintains, and repairs vehicles daily based on established requirements
- 5% Identifies and reports damaged equipment and products to the appropriate entities
- 10% Provides assistance in manufacturing and processing operations with assembling, testing and maintaining manufacturing equipment. Promotes a safe, clean, and organized facility
- 10% Unloads the store raw materials and prepares and loads orders of finished materials for shipment or delivery

Qualifications:
1-2 years experience driving delivery verhicle
Ability to become an approved driver through UW-Madison’s driver authorization process.
Work Schedule:
The position may occasionally be asked to work hours in excess of the normal work shift. The work hours are 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.
