Position: Backend Engineer
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Develop n-tier application using advanced implementations in RESTful services, using JAVA/J2EE, Spring project reactor. Implement microservices using Spring Boot. Develop services using Cloud Native runtime environment for Docker containers on Kubernetes. Implement microservices to create data pipelines using Kafka which consumes millions of messages per minute. Develop test cases for existing and future functionalities using Junit, Java programing features, and TestNG annotations. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; formulating an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completing online documentation. Provide support to the business by responding to user’s questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies); identifying short- and long- term solutions; facilitating resolutions; and leading cross-functional partnership.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 3 years of experience in backend software development.
Skills required: Experience designing and implementing RESTful API using JAVA/J2EE. Experience implementing microservices using Spring Boot. Experience implementing microservices to create data pipelines using Kafka. Experience developing test cases for existing and future functionalities using Junit, Java programming features, and TestNG annotations. Experience developing services using Cloud Native runtime environment for Docker containers on Kubernetes. Experience designing and implementing RESTful API. Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language including Java, C++, or Python. Experience designing and testing Relational Database Management Systems including MYSQL and PostgreSQL. Experience in NoSQL databases including Cassandra. Experience building Spring Boot CRUD REST API with Spring Data and JPA. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $141,378/year to $141,378/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
