Join the Juniper Apstra backend engineering team to challenge yourself to difficult problems in distributed systems! You will be working on novel features, such as Intent-based Analytics (IBA) and Root Cause Identification (RCI), to transform the way computing infrastructure is deployed, monitored, and debugged. Responsibilities
- Design and implement Apstra backend subsystems for modeling intent, rendering device configuration, collecting telemetry and analytics
- Measure and improve the performance of agents and the Apstra API
- Work with the networking team to devise new and effective methods of diagnosing issues in networks and computing infrastructure
- Develop new data analysis tools to discover correlation and causality relationships between components of large-scale distributed systems
- Collaborate with the Product Management team to define new features
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Professional software development
- Excellent coding skills in Python, C++
- Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
- Solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Good understanding of operating systems and systems programming
- Experience in building test/simulation environments for real-time systems
Preferred Qualifications
- MS degree in Computer Science
- Experience in implementing, debugging and optimizing distributed systems
- Experience with infrastructure management and orchestration solutions, such as VMWare, Kubernetes
- Deep understanding of computer networking domain and protocols
- Experience in writing applications for device operating systems, such as Juniper Junos, Juniper EVO, Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, Cumulus Linux and SONiC

Minimum Salary: $120,000.00
Maximum Salary:$172,500.00
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $120,000.00 and $172,500.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
