Hourly Pay Range for System Administrator – $30.00-$35.00
Norm Reeves is looking for a Systems Administrator to join our team in our Cerritos office. The Systems Administrator will act as the security guard for our system. This role maintains upgrades, maintenance, and any installations needed for our employees. The System Administrator will educate our employees and act as the first point of contact for support within the business for technical needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong time-management skills and excellent communication skills, which enable him/her to work with various employees and leaders within the company. The System Administrator will own any/all technical problems and feel passionate about technology and helping others.
Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
- Implement and maintain the computer systems so they are compliant with the organization’s guidelines or SOP (Standards Operating Procedure).
- Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Establish, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Evaluate existing systems and provide technical direction to IT staff.
- Plan and implement systems automation as required for better efficiency.
- Ensure a rapid response to any technical issues.
- Manage directory services (AD and AAD) including setting up accounts, creating and managing system/security groups and policies.
- Report and manage AD and AAD via Powershell.
- Manage our Cloud/VOIP phone system.
- Upgrade/Update systems with patches, new releases, and new software.
- Work in a ticketing system following the established SOP.
- Contribute articles to the Service Desk Knowledge Base.
- Assist in the adoption and deployment of new technologies.
- Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with peers.
- Develop expertise to train staff.
What You’ll Need:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Cloud Administrator, or similar role, especially in Azure and Office/Microsoft 365
- Experience with virtualization
- Experience with vulnerabilities and patch management
- Network experience (LAN, WAN, Wifi)
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
- Ability to create scripts in Powershell, Python, or other language
- Familiarity with various desktop, mobile, and server operating systems and platforms. Primarily Windows.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Be organized and adhere to established conventions
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; or professional certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA, MCSE, Azure Certified, etc.)
