TITLE:
Battery Servicer/Maintenance Technician
EXPECTED SHIFTS/HOURS:
ALL SHIFTS/FLEXIBILITY
SALARY: Competitive Wages – The pay range is $21 to $31+ per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check and maintain water/electrolyte level on all batteries
- Fill out battery change form
- Wash batteries, clean and dry
- Change batteries on equipment as needed
- Inspect cables on batteries and chargers for exposed wire. Repair as needed
- Inspect plugs on batteries and chargers to ensure they are good condition. Repair as needed
- Plug in batteries in need of charge
- Clean Battery room: dust chargers, clean battery pads, sweep floors, clean vent screens and empty trash cans
- Perform PM’S on pallet jacks at the direction of the Foreperson
- Report any needed repairs to Foreperson
SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to operate different types of material handling equipment
- Work in departments which may range in temperature from 80˚to -20˚ F.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity
- Ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities
