Description

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Observe students in the classroom, provide support and assist in the collection of data.
  2. Develop/Implement/Monitor specific behavior management/intervention strategies and acquisition program procedures in the classroom.
  3. Develop/Implement/Monitor social skills groups in classrooms in partnership with the education/behavior team as needed.
  4. Train teachers and staff on behavior management strategies
  5. Implement emergency restraint of student/child as needed in the event of danger to child or others and in adherence with all state and federal guidelines.
  6. Develop, implement, and monitor Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Improvement Plan (BIP) for students.
  7. Attend IEP/IFSP/Behavior meetings as needed.
  8. Keep abreast/communicate promising best practices/developments related to behavior and changes in state and federal laws related to behavior policies.
  9. Provide in-service training to administrators, teachers, and parents on selected topics (e.g., descalation of behavior, basic behavior principles, basic teaching methodologies, noncompliance, disruptive behavior, aggressive behavior, self-injurious behavior, and stereotypic behavior).
  10. Maintain communication with parents regarding student progress.
  11. Track and maintain data on MTSS process including open consents, development, and implementation of behavior plans.
  12. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Training:

Bachelor Degree or Higher – Preferably in Behavior Analysis or Exceptional Student Education

AND

Florida Statement of Eligibility in ESE

CPI Trained (Current)

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 years teaching or direct experience (including internship) working with students with ASD/behavior challenges preferred.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and utilizing behavior data.
  • Experience assessing, developing, and implementing behavior intervention plans and strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and successfully perform clinical behavior analysis with a wide variety of behavioral problems
