We are looking for an emotionally intelligent, creative problem-solver to join our team as the Behavioral Health Prevention & Coordination Supervisor .

Under the general direction of the Addiction Services Manager, the Behavioral Health Prevention & Coordination Supervisor plans, organizes and manages the day-to-day activities of the Prevention and Coordination work area. In this role, you will work with the Addiction Services Manager in ensuring a strategy for future growth and financial sustainability in alignment with the Program vision, mission and strategic plan. Key responsibilities include: program development and grants management; budget/contract development and oversight; staff leadership and team management; developing joint ventures via internal/external stakeholders; representing the County to a variety of constituents; and serving as a subject matter expert for the program.

As the Behavioral Health Prevention & Coordination Supervisor, your duties will include:

Program Development and Grants Management

  • Working alongside staff to develop project plans for achieving program goals and objectives.
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to implement key grant activities and programs, in line with department goals.
  • Advocating for additional resources necessary to implement efficient and effective provision of services through contracts and grants with county entities as well as state, federal, and private funding sources.
  • Working alongside internal development and program staff to submit grant applications and reports.
  • Working with team to develop strategic planning for substance use, problem gambling, and suicide prevention.

Program Operations

  • Planning, organizing, monitoring, and managing the day-to-day processes and operations of assigned programs housed within the Behavioral Health Prevention and Outreach team.
  • Supporting implementation and creating structure of multiple, complex prevention and outreach plans in alignment with federal and state mandates.
  • Interpreting and applying federal and state mandated guidelines.
  • Coordinating, implementing, administering, and evaluating projects, services and staff; monitoring and tracking contract deliverables and scopes of work.
  • Working with staff to identify goals and evaluation metrics for all program areas, to include evaluation and development of related policies, workflows and procedures based on legal, funding and rule or policy requirements.
  • Communicating across multiple disciplines and agencies to share program evaluation, development, quality improvement and program updates.
  • Ensuring Behavioral Health Prevention work is delivered in a trauma-informed manner that is accessible and inclusive.

Staff Leadership and Team Management

  • Supervising, coordinating and evaluating program staff, supporting team members in reaching professional goals; providing positive and constructive feedback to foster continued growth and development.
  • Furthering goals of equity, inclusion, and belonging in individual and group settings.
  • Providing management of activity integration throughout the program.
  • Monitoring and evaluating performance, providing timely and objective feedback via individual and team check-ins or team meetings, annual performance evaluations, coaching and career suggestions and planning, and performance concerns or issues that require response and addressing for correction and improvement.
  • Providing high levels of technical assistance to program areas, including but not limited to, internal staff, external community partner agencies and other community networks.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferable Skills*:

Education/Training: Equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social science, social work, sociology, public health, community health, behavioral science, or related field; three (3) to six (6) years of gambling, suicide or substance use prevention experience,

AND,

Certification: Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) Certification with the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) – more information can be found at MHACBO website . Current CPS (Preferred)

Other:

  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • This position requires a background investigation, which may include being fingerprinted.

Teleworking: At this time, this position is designated to “routine telework,” meaning you will be working remotely (from home) most of the time. As with all routine telework positions, employees may be required to come into the office on occasion or visit a location in the community. The designation of Routine Telework may be subject to change at a future time. Currently, all employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other states.

Salary/Pay: Please be advised that the pay range listed for this position is intended to provide general guidance on the earning potential for the role. However, actual compensation will be determined in accordance with the Oregon Equal Pay Law and will take into account factors such as the candidate’s relevant experience and education. Candidates should expect that initial offers will be made within the listed pay range and may not be at or near the top of the range.
