Cyber Software Engineer IV – Offensive Cyber Tools Specialist

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities. Implement, test and operate advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture. Perform on-going security testing and code review to improve software security. Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise. Provide engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities. Contribute to all levels of the architecture. Maintain technical documentation. Consult team members on secure coding practices. Develop a familiarity with new tools and best practices.

Supports Cyber design team for command and control systems, situational awareness capabilities, network exploitation capabilities, defensive cyber operations tools, offensive cyber operations tools, non-kinetic effects systems, visualization systems, and infrastructure support systems.

Plan and conduct assessment projects concerned with cybersecurity tools and research, design, and development of new or modification and improvement of existing equipment’s and systems applicable to the mission.

Apply the theories, principles, standards and information systems security methods and a working knowledge of the related engineering disciplines to evaluate system requirements, determine hardware and software design detail and performance characteristics necessary to meet operational requirements.

Recommend new designs and techniques leading to cost-effective system enhancement.

Analyze specific system requirements and design modifications or deviations in hardware or software subsystems to ensure fulfillment of user related needs and will adequately resist established and projected threat environments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree and 8+ years of related experience or Masters degree and 6+ years of experience or PhD and 3+ years of experience.

Minimum IA-T2 certification.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communications skills.

Range for Posting

Salary Minimum: $57,500
Salary Mid: $115,000
Salary Maximum: $143,800

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton’s total compensation package for employees.
