Job Location: This position is located at the Howerton State Office Building; 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO.

Why you’ll love this position: As the State Fair Hearings Liaison, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals throughout our division to ensure the MHD policy is upheld. You will always be busy with new and challenging situations.

What you’ll do:

  • Process all State Fair Hearing requests from beginning to end.
  • Access various computer systems to gather information.
  • Document all hearings requests, to include obtaining all necessary documents, and preparing exhibits necessary to conduct the hearing.
  • Research MHD policy, Missouri State regulations, and perform claim research for presentation at the hearing.
  • Responsible for contacting various entities, as well as coordinating the schedules of all hearing participants to ensure availability during the scheduled hearing times.
  • Be a self-starter and take initiative to perform all aspects of this position.
  • Facilitate, conduct, and present all exhibits in the hearing, as well as answer any questions the hearings officer may have during the hearing.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Preferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of MHD programs and policies with regard to items and services being covered or non-covered. Knowledge of claims history and prior authorizations. Knowledge of the computer systems used such as FAMIS, MEDES, eMMIS, is necessary. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. This position requires someone who is able to emulate professionalism at all times.
