NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Salary Range
$75,900 – $125,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like
Organization 03512, Health Plans and Open Enrollment, is currently seeking a Benefits Analyst to join their team!
The selected candidate will be responsible for all accounting aspects of managing a multi-million dollar benefit program budget, including validating invoicing. They will also manage vendor contracts, plan performance, and manage the internal procurement process – drafting statement of works, reviewing proposals and agreements, and other related requirements for contracts.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
- Lead annual Department of Energy cost deliverables on behalf of the Benefits Organization, including the collection, evaluation, and final reporting benefit deliverables
- Support data warehouse reporting and provide budget support by monitoring vendor invoices and charged tasks
- Coordinate and collect industry surveys for benchmarking, and implement industry trends to ensure plans are competitive, cost effective, and comply with DOE policy
- Ensure costs are allocated according to established procedures
- Investigate cost structures for new and existing benefit programs
- Prepare reports comparing budgets with actual expenses
- Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify their accuracy
- Provide budget information and cost data to internal and external parties as determined by the Benefits Manager
- Support internal audit requests for data and justifications and the annual review of plan documents and summary plan descriptions
- Partner with teams on various projects and business rhythm work
- Support annual open enrollment events and other programs
- Review and update policies and/or procedures
- Provide benefit related content for communications and websites
This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Qualifications We Require
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a relevant field, plus 5 years related experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
- The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance
Qualifications We Desire
- Knowledge of accounting and financial concepts and principles and a working knowledge of related activities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- A strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to effectively present detailed and complex information of significance in a clear and coherent manner
- Experience using Oracle and/or PeopleSoft application
- Experience making decisions, and the ability to interpret program concepts or business principles, as well as existing precedents, standards, policies, and procedures
- An agile team player
- The ability to organize and manage multiple tasks with high impact to government deliverables

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
