Benefits Analyst – Retirement

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Benefits Analyst (Entry-level) in support of our Benefits & Retirement team based out of our headquarters in Reston, VA.

This role is mostly remote but occasional on-site work is required and therefore requires a local to the Northern Virginia or Washington DC area candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Retirement Manager to assist in administration of employee retirement and financial programs (401(k), pension, retiree medical, and financial wellbeing).
  • Prepare weekly 401(k) plan funding in coordination with internal partners and 401(k) administrator.
  • Responsible for preparation of invoices and wires for all health & welfare and retirement related payments, to include analysis and development of funding and payment tracking.
  • Prepare payroll pre-processor for NQDC payouts from vendor partner.
  • Provide excellent customer service while managing retirement email box and responding to employee inquiries regarding retirement related matters and issues (i.e., 401(k), pension, retiree medical, service awards/recognition program).
  • Manage service award and recognition programs in coordination with vendor partners.
  • Provide Retiree Medical materials to newly eligible employees.
  • Conduct master data review to include routine audits of census files, payroll reports,401(k) administrator reporting, etc.
  • Assist with annual audits to include data discovery and analysis.
  • Responsible for assisting with compliance obligations such as 5500 reviews, non-discrimination testing, etc.
  • Assist with development of content for retirement and financial wellbeing communications to include lunch and learns, the intranet, benefits guide, website, newsletters, etc.
  • Other benefits programs, duties, and projects, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Health, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 0-2 years professional experience, with desired focus in retirement plan administration (retirement, benefits, payroll, or closely related field).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with superb analytical skills, including advanced Excel capabilities.
  • A highly motivated individual, eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous hands-on internship experience working with retirement plan administration, benefits, HR, etc.
  • Ability to work individually or in a collaborative environment.

Target Salary Range

$39,000 – $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
