H2M architects + engineers is seeking a BIM/CAD Specialist to join its growing team in Melville, NY. This position offers potential career growth for a candidate who can demonstrate exceptional technical and software-supporting skills with architectural, Engineering, Structural, Civil, Water, Wastewater, and MEP design knowledge.
Working with BIM/CAD Managers and BIM/CAD Technicians, the BIM/CAD Specialist assists in creating, developing, and implementing BIM/CAD standards and systems for the H2M Core of Excellence initiative across all H2M disciplines, markets, and offices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day technical support on design projects, including design adaptation, construction documentation, modeling, and creating customized content.
- Assist in developing and implementing companywide BIM/CAD standards and procedures.
- Maintain BIM/CAD workflows, templates, and libraries.
- Provide BIM/CAD production support for project teams, including project model setup and preliminary discipline project work.
- Create Revit families or C3D network part items in response to project needs.
- Conduct orientation for new employees to familiarize them with H2M standards.
- Assist in developing BIM/CAD training programs, materials, videos, and deployment strategies for the internal BIM/CAD technical end users.
- Assist in the management of the BIM/CAD software licensing.
- Assist in the management and mentoring of BIM/CAD technicians.
- Verify that BIM Models adhere to internal and client-specific goals and standards.
- Monitor project delivery to ensure compliance with the agreed-upon strategy, standards, and work processes.
- Resolve conflicts as they come up between the design and construction documents and the project’s intent per specification and contract requirements.
- Work with a team of professionals to produce high-quality rendering and design to meet and exceed client needs.
- Implement stated Core of Excellence initiatives.
- Work integral to the Core of Excellence team aligned with H2M’s mission, vision, and values.
- Schedule and regularly visit one branch office once every two months to assist in advancing the Core of Excellence initiatives. Each office is to be seen during the year.
- Meet utilization goals for billable time assistance to projects.
Education and Qualifications:
- Associate degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or related field is preferred.
- Autodesk Professional Certification preferred.
- Must have an in-depth working knowledge of Autodesk design software. (CAD/REVIT/C3D)
- Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
- Posses knowledge of PC software and programs and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work well with others, take direction, and work independently.
- Must have the ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed and determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
- Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethics and uphold our company values.
- Willingness to learn and collaborate.
- Interest in keeping up with the latest software updates and innovations.
- At least five years of experience with the tasks above.
