Position Overview
At Kiewit, a BIM Manager’s role is to be the tool and process expert for specific design technology tasks, project setup and continued workflows. During project kickoff, they are often tasked to bring all technical requirements together, assess team technical strengths and provide training and support on weak points. This role is a perfect fit for senior CAD managers, engineers and architects changing and focusing their skillset in design technology integration and support of multi-disciplinary models of design and construction projects, design processes and the product in which those process produces.
District Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering’s Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. Location
This position is based out of our New York City office.
Responsibilities
• Academic and working knowledge in design technology and AEC design workflows
• Helps manage digital library and families for digital assets.
• Build and collect digital assets and detail drawings for the enterprise digital library as needed.
• Meets with project teams weekly to discuss questions and resolve technical problems on projects.
• Monitors projects for errors and enforces model/drawing clean up and use of standards up by project team
• Provide day to day support of design technology software/hardware and workflows.
• Achieve division wide standard process for model setup
• Hold regular meetings with BIM leaders group to discuss pertinent issues.
• Assist in evaluation of potential hires for BIM capability.
• Assist in creation and enforcement of BIM execution plans
• Develop or existing experience in writing macros and scripts. Should be familiar with software versioning updates and third party add-ins used in the industry.
• Update staff on new features when new versions of design technology are released.
• Provide leadership to a project on how a model is organized. Shell, core, interiors, site etc. as needed with tested experience.
• General problem solver with a “nothing is impossible” attitude towards design technology issues.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a design program or engineering program is ideal and a minimum of 8 years of experience using BIM based workflows in an SMEP/ARCH environment is required.
• Provides detailed knowledge of BIM software applications including Revit, AutoCAD, Navis Works and other software utilized for clash detection and design.
• Familiarity with Bentley 3D and Microstation is desired.

Base Compensation: $96,170 – $147,631
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
