The Role
Tesla is looking for a BIM MEP Designer experienced in the design of complex manufacturing, R&D, and workplace facilities. The Drafters will work under the technical supervision of our engineers and architects.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining construction drawings, facilities layouts, and engineering drawings
- Process & Instrumentation Diagrams
- Produce construction details for architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines with guidance
- Assemble full permit level and construction level drawing packages with Project Architects and Engineers
- Develop simple to mid-level designs/layouts through fabrication level 3D models
- Field surveys and as-built documentation
- Develop custom Revit families, including creation/modification of “parametric” families
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM
- Work experience should include projects from the following: commercial offices, mission critical/data centers, biotech, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial, or R&D
- Ability to quickly read and understand construction plans and schematics
- Ability to create construction plans by interpreting and combining multiple sources of information into one plan set
- Strong working knowledge of common construction materials and methods
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, communicate succinctly and clearly to all levels of the organization, and maintain effectiveness while working autonomously or collaboratively

$20.00 – $60.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
