Bindery worker

Job Summary:

This team player will perform machine operation on various production equipment, quality check projects, and package print materials and other goods. Tasks include but are not limited to: trimming, folding, scoring, perfing, saddle stitching, perfect binding, coil binding, padding, assembly, and handwork. This position works closely with other employees and departments to resolve issues and move work through production.

Responsibilities:

Performs advanced printing duties, programs and operates machines used for printing and reproduction, inspects finished product quality, and receives and tracks supply inventory to ensure timely and high quality reproduction and printing services for customers. Assists in training lower level staff and peers. Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs.

  • 55% Performs setup and programs and operates high-speed machines to produce products according to customer specifications at an advanced level
  • 15% Works in partnership with internal teams to ensure completion of duties
  • 10% Inspects products prior to packaging to ensure all specifications meet set standards
  • 5% Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
  • 5% Performs basic routine maintenance, minor repairs, and upkeep on equipment
  • 5% Assists in training lower level staff and peers on machines and operational work procedures, providing guidance on projects
  • 5% Assists in preparing documentation (SOPs) for equipment and operational work procedures

-Attention to detail
-Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently
-Ability to stand for long periods of time
-Strong sense of time organization and urgency
-Ability to work independently and within a team

Preferred Qualifications:
-Prior experience in a print finishing environment
-Experience operating and maintaining machinery

6:30-3:00 Monday – Friday

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
