Overview
The Booking Coordinator is required to be adept at administrative tasks, while drawing on strong interpersonal skills and proven sales ability in order to maximize the usage of meeting rooms and the facility in general. The successful candidate will arrange room bookings, assist with ice & court bookings, and will actively pursue potential new users for the facility. The Booking Coordinator will need to understand the complexities of a multi-use sport and entertainment facility and be expected to assist with all major events.
This role will pay a salary of $45,000 to $55,000.

Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate room, ice and court rentals at the facility
- Work alongside the Events Manager in the execution of all functions and events
- Be the first point of contact for rental inquiries
- Deal with rental groups, addressing concerns and complaints
- Work with the Marketing and Sales Department to promote the facility and its programs and services
- Pursue new rental opportunities with potential corporate and community clients
- Plan and implement programs and events at the facility to increase usage
- Maintain awareness of budget expectations and work towards achieving them
- Keep accurate and easily accessible records of rentals, including relevant customer information
- Work with accounting to provide monthly financial reports
- Plan seasonal recreation program/event schedules that meet the needs and interests of the demographics
- Liaise with operations and other appropriate departments to ensure the smooth delivery of events
- Prepare and distribute Event Details sheets to appropriate departments in a timely manner
- Introduce new program ideas and special events
- Develop and maintain working relationships and regular communication with public, private and community groups
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma from a recognized university or college in Business, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ booking or event experience
- Proven planning, and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills including social media, and a willingness to learn specific scheduling and bookkeeping applications
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including significant event and weekend work
