DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Town of Clayton is seeking applicants for a Part-Time Box Office Associate for our Cultural Arts Department. The Town of Clayton is the fastest growing town in Johnston County, which is the fastest-growing county in the State of North Carolina. The Town of Clayton employs more than 250 full-time staff in areas including police, fire, and electric utilities. The Town of Clayton also offers a range of PT positions including positions in Parks & Rec and Cultural Arts.
The purpose of this position is to support the Box Office Manager in the sale of tickets and ticketing services during regular box office hours and at events/performances.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides general sales support during peak box office business hours and day of show.
- Reconciles cash/credit sales and finalizes reports at end of each shift.
- Provides a high level of customer service to walk-up and phone patrons.
- Responds courteously to rental clients and other employees.
- Performs other tasks as directed by box office manager and other lead staff.
- Opens/closes box office in absence of box office manager and other full-time staff.
- Communicating as needed with other event staff during events.
A modified schedule is associated with this position (specific times set by supervisor). Individual in this position will work frequent weekends and occasional evenings.
Special Requirements, Education & Experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES: Individual in this position should possess knowledge of basic computer navigation including online applications; ability to function efficiently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment; skilled in communicating with patrons on the phone and in person in order to resolve their needs/issues.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED is preferred.
